Rules
1. PhotoMarathon is an entirely digital event. You can take part only with a digital camera or mobile phone cameras (no film cameras). You must bring your own memory card, which needs to be empty of images at the beginning of the day. This will be checked by a member of our team at registration on the day of the event.
2. You should capture an image on the chosen topic on the day of the Photomarathon.
3. All photographs must be taken on the day of the PhotoMarathon event between 11am and 5pm.
4. Each participant must choose whether to participate with a phone or a camera at the beginning of the marathon. The team of volunteers will check the date and time settings of your camera.
5. All images must be shot as JPEG files. RAW files will not be accepted.
6. You are free to use flashes, filters (including in-camera) and tripods.
7. You are not permitted to use images that are not taken during PhotoMarathon. You are not permitted to edit the filename or any data related to the images. Any manipulation (or suspected manipulation) of the image or its metadata will cause the entry to be disqualified. This decision will be at the discretion of the jury and/or the organisers of the event and is final.
8. You must collect your registration number in person at the PhotoMarathon location in x Challenge park by 11:30 on the 14th of August.
9. To be eligible to finish you must return your memory card for downloading before the 5pm deadline.

Yes indeed. PhotoMarathon is a fully digital event - you can use your camera and as of 2020 also or your mobile phone.
Can I use my film camera?
Unfortunately not, only digital.
Can I use my phone camera?
Yes - we accept photographers with mobile phones.
Do I need to bring my own memory card?
Yes, you need to bring your own memory card. It needs to be completely empty at the beginning of the PhotoMarathon, and our team will check this before you start. We will accept standard SD cards. If yours isn't a standard size please bring a USB cable for us to download your images at the end of the day.
Can I use multiple cameras?
No, we accept one camera or phone only. Feel free to use different lenses, filters etc.
Can I use built in-camera filters?
Yes you can.
Can I enter with a friend or in a group?
Absolutely! This is an opportunity for photographers to work together, as it often helps to get the creative inspiration flowing. If you’re working in a team you need to submit one photo.
Where is the event taking place?
We are heading to the wonderful X Challenge park in Tsarevo.
How will you collect the images?
At the end of the PhotoMarathon, we will download your images to our computers. You will keep your memory card.
What format should the images be in?
All images will need to be shot as JPEG files. RAW files will not be accepted.
Will the topics be announced online?
Not until after the event.
Who owns the copyright of the images taken?
The copyright of the images taken remains of the photographer. In entering the competition the entrant grants to PhotoMarathon the right to use the images in all media for promotion of the PhotoMarathon. PhotoMarathon nor the author cannot (and will not) pass on, sub-license or sell any images to any third party without your permission. The images may be used in an exhibition.
Who can participate?
Everyone over the age of 18 can join. Participants under the age of 18 must have a signed declaration from a parent or guardian.
How is the winner determined?
The jury (that will be announced soon) choose the first, second and third place.
Where will the photos be shown?
All images will be published on the Facebook page of FotoFabrika. FotoFabrika is not responsible for the published images. Each author is obliged to have the consent of the photographed persons. In the event of a dispute over the photos, they will be removed.
What are the prizes?
1st prize: 500 leva or voucher for photo equipment and many more soon to be announced.
